When you’re learning to walk again, every step counts.
Rehabilitation care can be life changing - it means regaining independence and hope. But if you’ve been injured and can’t access the care you need, then there’s a real danger that your injury could become a permanent disability.
Every single day Humanity & Inclusion's physiotherapists help hundreds of injured and disabled people back on to their feet.
"Walking is something that most of us take for granted, but for people with serious injuries it can take months of physiotherapy and practice to regain their independence."
Pete Skelton, Humanity & Inclusion UK's Rehabilitation Project Manager.
Taking your first steps is a crucial milestone for people learning to walk again. And organising your own fundraising walk is a meaningful, simple, and above all fun way to support HI's work with injured and disabled people.
Whether it's a Sunday morning walk to a pub, a woodland stroll, or something a bit more adventurous, you can get friends, family, club members and others together for a great day out. Whatever the season, it is always a fantastic time to head outdoors and help change lives forever.
Dundee Soroptimists raised over £500 with fundraising walks around the Loch of Forfar and over the Queensferry Crossing in 2017.
Our fundraising pack includes tips to help you organise and promote your fundraising walk as well as sponsorship forms. Download it today and get inspired!
