Many of Beirut’s inhabitants were seriously injured when explosions ripped through the city’s port on 4th August. Nada Baghdadi, 27, suffered a severely broken leg.

Humanity & Inclusion (HI)'s teams have been reaching out to the residents of two Beirut neighbourhoods - Karantina and Basta - to identify people with injuries and those who need help to overcome their ordeal.
Nada Baghdadi, who lives near the port of Beirut, was at home when the district was hit by two explosions on 4th August.
HI’s teams met with her to discuss her experience and provide her with emergency equipment and psychological first aid to help her recover from the disaster.
Since she finds it extremely hard to move around with her broken leg, HI has also provided her with a set of crutches to restore her independence.
HI has been providing Nada with physical rehabilitation care to help her get back on her feet as soon as possible. She will also receive “cash assistance" to pay for essential items like food and medication.

she says.
HI has been working in Lebanon since 1992. HI teams provide assistance to the most vulnerable individuals and people with disabilities and help ensure that they are included in the life of their community . the teams also implements demining projects in the north of the country where people’s lives are still at risk from explosive devices left over from the 15-year civil war, which ended in 1990.
Nahed Al-Khlouf leads Humanity & Inclusion's teams in Lebanon. She is coordinating our emergency response, particularly for people with disabilities, pregnant women, and elderly people displaced by the bombings.
One year after the earthquake that struck Myanmar in March 2025, the situation remains fragile: Humanity & Inclusion has provided support to tens of thousands of people in the regions hardest hit by the disaster.
A year ago, a powerful earthquake struck the city of Mandalay, turning Paing Thu Zaw and his family life upside down. Thanks to HI’s support, they are gradually regaining hope and independence.
